New Name. Same Mission.

The Center (formerly Pastoral Counseling and Education Center) was founded in 1968 by the Greater Dallas Council of Churches and immediately became a nationally respected leader in the integration of theology and psychology in counseling. The first executive director was the renowned Dr. Kenneth Pepper "Dr. Pepper," an expert in the field of pastoral counseling who took on the call the make counseling accessible to the community.

Under Dr. Pepper's trailblazing leadership, The Center became an established, trusted resource through church partnerships andother collaborations. The Center's therapists continue this legacy and mission helping people of all ages and stages navigate and grow through life's challenges making a generational impact.

In 2019, we introduced a new name and redesigned logo – The Center for Integrated Counseling and Psychology (The Center). Our new name reflects the expanded breadth of our work, the same mission and the continued legacy.

Trustworthy and
Compassionate Care

In 2022, we provided 37,000+ counseling sessions, served 3,200+ children, teens and adults with counseling and assessments, and led workshops and mental health education for 3,000+ individuals. We provide services at 22 locations including our main office, churches, physician group offices, offices in Waco and Waxahachie, and multiple sites for our Partnerships for Accessible Counseling and Training (PACT) program. The Center's staff focus on offering trustworthy and compassionate care.

history-talks

Child therapists bring hope and healing in our Child and Family Wing created through funding from the Crystal Charity Ball in 1993. The Ambassadors, a volunteer leadership group founded by Sue McCoy, raised funds that began our assessments and psychological testing program which continues to grow through the work of our four licensed psychologists.

See how we are embracing our past and pointing toward
a bright future in the video featuring Sue’s story below.

Committed Community Partners and Friends

Our success is traced to the support of friends and foundations across the community and those who came before us. We look forward to the new and exciting opportunities ahead as we continue our mission and honor the role that faith plays in people’s lives.
