Your gift supports counseling at our PACT Partners in underserved communities

"Family and relationships are the heartbeat of community," said Joy Delzer, LPC-Associate at The Center who provides onsite counseling at Mission Oak Cliff and Interfaith Family Services. "I am passionate about su

pporting my clients as they grow and connect with their families and important relationships in their lives.

"We provide care for trauma-related issues, anxiety, depression, and behavior related issues that can affect success in school. As we grieve the losses experienced as a result of the pandemic, we have even more need of being present for each other in time of difficulty and pain. Counseling is a place where I can be present with my clients in the midst of grief and loss and help them heal."

Joy sees clients at our PACT Partner locations. She grew up in South America in a family dedicated to full-time ministry. After several years of working as nurse in different areas of healthcare, she realized that she had a passion for counseling and the process of emotional healing. Joy is passionate about advocacy and multicultural counseling.

"I have a front-row seat to see how families and individuals grow and become more resilient. Through PACT, we’re strengthening the safety net and changing the conversation about mental health," added Joy. "Your gift continues this important work. Thank you for giving this North Texas Giving Day."

About PACT
In 2014, The Center established the Partnerships for Accessible Counseling and Training program (PACT) starting with one nonprofit partner location to now 11 locations. This outstanding innovative program teams up with established nonprofits whose clients would not have access to mental health care. It is the ONLY PROGRAM of its type. PACT is 100% supported by notable foundations (The Rees-Jones Foundation, The Rosewood Foundation, Harry W. Bass, Jr. Foundation) and individuals and receives no government funding.

We believe a rising tide lifts all boats. By collaborating with established nonprofits, counseling is provided onsite in a safe and comfortable environment, where people already receive services such as food, clothing and after-school care. We complement the work of these nonprofits by addressing an unmet need.

PACT removes barriers and makes professional counseling and psychological assessments accessible to all.
Current PACT partners include:

  • Wesley Rankin Community Center
  • Interfaith Family Services
  • Brother Bill’s Helping Hand
  • Mission Oak Cliff
  • Buckner’s Family Hope Centers in South Dallas, West Dallas and the Bachman Lake area
  • The Salvation Army’s Pleasant Grove Corps Community Center
  • Boys and Girls Club of West Dallas
  • West Dallas Community School
  • Cornerstone Crossroads Academy

For more than 50 years, The Center has been providing counseling, assessments and testing for children and adults of all ages – and the demand is at an all-time high. To learn more about PACT click here.
