Understanding racism and anti-racism
Lessons learned from therapy and ministry that can bridge racial divides

OUR distinguished panel

The socially oriented professions, such as mental health and ministry, wield enormous leverage as cultural influencers; and with much power comes much responsibility.

This training moves from the micro to the macro. We’ll examine what science and experience have revealed about racial dialogue in therapy offices and faith communities around North and Central Texas. We’ll also discuss how to go about racial healing in our broader communities.

Please join leaders from the faith and mental health communities in this timely, lively and relevant dialogue.

Our expert panel will:

  • Share scientifically-grounded, experientially-guided ways of communicating about race, reducing stigma, and understanding relationships in both therapy and ministry.
  • Explain trends in research that inform cultural competency specific to the culture of 2020.
  • Extrapolate lessons learned in specific therapeutic and ministerial encounters to inform the needs for broader racial healing among our communities.
