Philosophy

I believe every person has the innate ability to overcome difficulties life presents. I believe we are made for connection and everyone needs someone to walk alongside them at some point in their life. In the counseling space, I value authenticity, collaboration, education and treasure insightful, "a ha," moments. I approach therapy holistically, and believe a picture of wellness includes body, mind and spirit. I pull from various approaches including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems. I learn something from every client and value what you bring to our time together. I am passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health, and enjoy helping my clients experience healing and restoration, learn new strategies for challenges, develop insight, and find JOY! I am here to encourage, empower and support you on your journey!

Jackie has experience working in the non-profit world where she has worked as the Director of a program that provided counseling and case management services to neighbors of Collin County. She has experience working with anxiety disorders, addiction, trauma, and does volunteer work with survivors of sexual assault. Jackie has experience working in a psychiatric hospital facilitating group therapy for trauma survivors and those with mental health concerns.

In her free time, Jackie can be found spending time with her daughters and husband playing games, listening to good music, and traveling. Jackie has love for the outdoors, and enjoys running an annual half-marathon. She enjoys relaxing through praise and worship, and reading a good book. Jackie understands the value and freedom that comes from processing painful events and feels honored to provide the same to her clients.
