Everyone is unique, and I approach therapy in a way that fosters that individuality to create growth. I believe in therapy that emphasizes trust, safety, acceptance, understanding, and empathy. I strive to create a safe space and develop a collaborative and integrative approach to help you identify patterns, work on interpersonal struggles, facilitate self-reflection, and foster self-awareness.
Monica completed the practicum and internship portion of her counseling degree at Preston Hollow Health & Wellness. During her time there, she was given the opportunity to work with children, adolescence, and young adults in a private practice setting. After completing her master’s degree, she continued working at the practice and developed a strong interest in working with individuals who suffer from anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and trauma.
During her spare time, Monica loves a relaxing yoga class, traveling, and nature hikes. To unwind, she appreciates a simple cup of warm coffee in a quiet place with a good book.
Additional areas of focus:
Depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts
Domestic violence recovery
Eating disorders/body image
Identity and self-image
