Director of Clinical Advancement
Staff Psychologist
Philosophy
In my work I draw upon a hope for mutuality, believing that all persons deserve it even when it becomes difficult. So, I value a collaborative, exploratory, and enlightening relationship for healing both in therapy and evaluation. Creativity, conversation, play, coaching, and reflection are all tailored pieces of my approach. I find these useful, even in surprising ways, when I am working with kids, teens, and adults.
Nathaniel R. Strenger, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Clinical Advancement at The Center. As such he provides a variety of clinical services, supervises training therapists, and develops continuing education opportunities for clinicians and the broader public alike. As part of his studies and professional activity, he has taught, lead workshops, and written on topics ranging from trauma, political conflict and civility, spirituality across the lifespan, community coordination in care, parenting concerns, and clergy family issues. He has worked in outpatient community clinics, private practice, medical centers, and in university counseling.
In addition to his work at The Center, Dr. Strenger is also Past President to the APA’s Dallas Division 39 chapter, the Dallas Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (DSPP). He visits undergraduate and graduate classrooms as a guest lecturer and has held faculty appointments.
