Philosophy

I firmly believe that life is full of moments. Moments that include choices which can change the trajectory of the path we are on. We cannot dictate the moments, but the choices are ours to make. With each choice, we can build healthy habits, coping mechanisms, and outlooks on life. But unfortunately, we can also build the opposite. Counseling is an opportunity to look back at the previous moments of life to see what choices can be retroactively made for better habits, coping, and views of life. This collaborative process leaves you in the driver seat as I get the privilege of walking with you through challenging circumstances and memories to hopefully create a more healthy future. I love creating a safe space and a secure relationship to present you with the best environment for change and growth.

Drake fell in love with the helping side of psychology after pursuing a degree in it at Southern Utah University. Volunteering at an outpatient program, Oasis House, for those with mental illnesses, he began seeing all that could be done through relationships. He spent time with medical missions in Africa and urban youth ministry through Kids Across America in Missouri which further refined his passion to provide counseling to those who do not feel represented, identified with, or able to receive services. In addition to this, Drake enjoys working with athletes who are dealing with life balance, transition, and mental injury recovery. His time playing Collegiate sports informed his recognition of a need for assistance in that area. His continued study at Dallas Theological Seminary taught him the necessity of integrating his beliefs and the truth of scripture into counseling to ensure all counseling is based on firm foundations.

In his free time, Drake enjoys surrounding himself with friends and family while playing basketball, watching movies, laughing, and playful debates about anything under the sun. He never shies away from new experiences and loves to explore different elements of all cultures.

In addition to our Central Office, Drake sees clients at community partner locations as part of our PACT program. For more information about our PACT Program and community partners, please click HERE.
