Philosophy

Each person is one-of-a-kind, shaped by a unique set of life experiences. I aspire to assist individuals in uncovering the impact of these experiences, facilitating the discovery of solutions, gaining fresh perspectives, and extracting valuable insights about themselves. Engaging in the field of psychology is a transformative journey that, once embraced, can empower individuals to evolve into healthier versions of themselves within their familial, social, and professional spheres.

My goal is to reassure clients that they are not alone, acknowledging that it’s acceptable to face challenges. I believe in the limitless potential with a connection to a higher power, and I aim to create a secure space that fosters growth and empowerment. In my role as a therapist, I endeavor to cultivate an atmosphere of warmth and respect, recognizing that each person is the ultimate authority on their own life. Through collaboration, I seek to support clients on their personal journey toward achieving their unique goals.

Tabita embarked on her American journey almost 8 years ago, securing a scholarship for English studies at Dallas Baptist University. Despite never having set foot in the USA before, the opportunity fueled a deep appreciation for the American way of life. The scholarship not only covered her bachelor’s degree but also paved the way for a master’s, influencing her decision to establish a permanent home here.

Tabita’s involvement in Christian activities spans from childhood, progressing from the children’s choir to leadership roles, including mission trips to Chile and the USA. Prestonwood Baptist Church became a focal point for her service, particularly in children’s care and biblical teachings. She has organized activities, led groups, and facilitated discussions on support, training, and behavior with teenagers and families.

Her comfort in integrating faith, values, and behavior makes her adept at cognitive therapies, with a special interest in trauma therapies like EMDR. Her major aspiration is to combat abuse and human trafficking, evident in her participation in the organization “Ya Basta,” addressing issues such as pornography and sexual abuse.

Passionate about travel, she frequently visits family in Chile. Tabita prioritizes a balanced lifestyle, using exercise as an stress-relieving outlet. Emphasizing a robust social life, she considers her friends in the USA as her extended family. Weekly Spanish services at Prestonwood Baptist Church and visits to The Porch at Watermark Church underscore her commitment to spiritual well-being. Despite the absence of immediate family, she finds joy in shared experiences and connections, embracing the diversity of cultures around her.
