Summer Integration Series 2026
Therapy Culture/Therapeutic Culture: Expansive Clinical Work in an Age of “Awareness”
America stands in paradox. Mental health awareness has expanded; stigma has softened; “therapy speak” has entered the mainstream. Yet crisis persists—rates of mental illness rise, deaths of despair remain high, and youth concerns intensify. Technology promises access, yet loneliness deepens. Online communities swell with conversation pertaining to mental health, yet real relationships splinter over differences big and small. Something, it seems, is not working. Clinicians can help everyone rethink what a genuinely therapeutic culture might look like.
The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology endeavors to be a bridge amidst the paradox, a center for integration. We serve as a hub not only for clinical service, but for rich and reflective training.
Join us for our OLOGY Summer Integration Series, a three-part clinical training exploring:
Therapy Culture/Therapeutic Culture: Expansive Clinical Work in an Age of “Awareness”
The series will equip clinicians and helpers to expand the scope of their human impact from three angles. This series will equip clinicians and helpers to:
- Look “beyond the clinical hour”
Use professional practice as a means of social collaboration between different helping institutions (e.g., churches, nonprofits). - Update engagement with “mental health awareness”
Learn to decipher adaptive vs. maladaptive ways folks might wield therapy speak in clinical and cultural contexts. - Situate practice within public life
Reflect on how clinical work intersects with policy, ethics, and broader cultural forces shaping 21st-century care.
Details and dates forthcoming.
